Was and Will Be

I am who I was and will be

No exceptions to that rule

I may not know who that is

And neither, I think, do you

I might surrender thus

To keep away the fear

I don't know the reason

But I'll tell you this

I only know who I was

Who I will be is mystery

I think that's plenty

For the present time

So, I'll leave an' let

You think upon me more
